JUST BREATHE
The most simple one to start; our body does it all the time without us even noticing. You can change your breath to give you a deeper sense of peace and enhancing your prana (your life force). Start by breathing in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold out for 6. Repeat 8 times.
2. FOCUS ON YOUR SENSES
Ground in the present moment by focusing on how we experience the world around us without judgement. Notice 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and one thing you can taste.
3. MOVE YOUR BODY
Ground by getting out of the head and into the body The mind and body are intrinsically connected, when the body feels good, the mind will too. Try yoga, stretching, dancing, walking, playing sport or whatever physical activity works for you.
4. QUIET THE MIND WITH MEDITATION
Ground by taking a moment with yourself to pause and be still with no distractions, in our busy and over stimulating modern world. It is important to practice this. You can follow a guided meditation or just listen to meditation music for as long or short as you desire. Even just 5 minutes makes a difference.
5. SPEND TIME IN NATURE
Ground by reconnecting the natural world. The earth carries a natural electrical charge, and by physically connecting with it, we can restore balance within ourselves. Try walking barefoot on the grass, swimming in the sea, or putting your palm on a tree.
